I heard about this book sometime ago, and it looked promising. Stories about Silicon Valley interest me. So I ordered the book and had it shipped to Florida where I planned to spend some time this winter. I routed the package to my buddy Michael, who delivered it to my unit.

Once I started ready this book, I just couldn’t put it down.

John Carreyrou was a Wall Street Journal investigative reporter at the time and got information from inside the company named Theranos. His contacts described wrongdoing by the company’s management about supposedly new technology to conduct blood exams using a new nano-container with a tiny amount of blood compared to the full blood draw for conventional analyzers. Enough about the story. I’ll let you discover it for yourself.

I will just say the book reads like a fiction novel with an actual plot, twists, and turns. The story is still in the news with Elizabeth Holmes waiting for sentencing and her co-conspirator scheduled for a trial this year.

Hulu just came out with a TV series called THE DROPOUT, which retraces the life of the Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes.

I recommend this book and give it a 5-star rating.
